How to deal with criticism

From Business Thrival

1.  When you become successful, you realize that there will be more criticism vs you.  As they say, people throw stones at heavily laden fruit tree.

2.  The problem with criticism is not not the subject of criticism but the one making the criticism

3.  Try to be objective and see the merits of the criticism.  Be constructive on the criticism

I would rather...

I would rather by Ferdi Fuentes

"..be a solution than the problem...
be an active player than a mere spectator,
be useful than useless,
be simple than complicated
be a man of deeds than a man of empty words;
be busy than idle,
be  a man of integrity than a man of dishonesty,
be a good citizen than an instant celebrity
be a peacemaker than a troublemaker;
be a friend than an adversary;
be loving than uncaring
be grateful than complaining..
be giver than a receiver..."

The Gospel today on wealthy people

I happenned to attend two masses for this Sunday:  one the anticipated mass of  Fr. Orbos at Marian Hills 1st anniversary at San Carlos Hts, Tayuman, Binangonan Rizal.   and the other one at Megamall.

Fr. Orbos simply enjoined the faithful to lead a simple, not complicated life.

At Megamall, the priest, while saying that we should not making wealth as center of our life, used I think the wrong example:   that it is better to be  relaxed fisherman, not even fishing, than to work hard to gain leisure at the end of the day.  Taken extremely that means, it is better not to mind things of this earth, the frontlines, but to escape and to relax.  But I think the Christian teaching challenges us to live with the challenges of contemporary life.  I do not think that working hard to benefit others is bad.

The mass featured the Bagong Binhi Community Inc, an NGO to promote the rehab/return of former prisoner to the fold of society. He sang together with a vid, a song for prisoners who want to be free (Ibong may layang lumipad, kulungin mo at umiyak) that is an adaptation of "Bayan ko" And he was well applauded.

A night of laughter and jokes at JCI PP reunion

After more than 3 decades, the Angono Pagoda Jaycees had a wonderful reunion at Pinamat restaurant.  Some 10 Past Presidents attended and 16 other Jaycee members came.

There were many light moments especially jokes, especially by Dr. Zapatos (condolence to him;  his wife Dra Edna just joined her Creator).  Some of them:

l.  Since he is the family physician and overseeing my health (I am a diabetic), when offered a drink( an alcoholic one) I had to request his permission. He said it was OK (once in a while is not bad.  However in his clinic, the admonition is not one drop to drink Hahaha)   When offered the second bottle, I said "Dr. can I have an RX"   He said go ahead, no need.

2.  He said, (and I mentioned in my closing remarks) not to mention gardener as an occupation.  Why?  Because, the gardener often stays at the beer garden.

Furthermore, he may be watering the "Daisies" We know the Daisies refer to (dese otso, siete - age of the chicks)

Then we  have:

Betty   (bentes  20s)

Teren (30s)

Dina (dina mag aanak, di na magbubuntis)

(Laughter ha ha ha ha)

JCI Past Presidents Reunion and Pagoda Jaycees Revival

   Daughter of PP Tess, PP Teddy, Rolly, JUS, Tess, and Maricor (wife of  Rolly and Sec Gen before.)

I used to be a JCI Angono President (in l979) just as I was finishing my MBA. was just starting life as entrepreneur.

Last Oct 13, 2012, Saturday, at the instance of PP Tess Pitogo (a cousin) and coordinated by the Office of the mayor (Gerry Calderon, himself a JCI PP), we had the reunion at Pinamat restobar at Col. Guido St., Angono.

16 former Jaycees and 10 past presidents who included Flavio Rivera, Teddy Paderes (who came all the way from Tayabas) Sherween Lagaya, Domeng Perez, Dr. Caloy Zapatos, Gerry Calderon, Rolly Miranda.  PP Candelaria (but left early)

The main agenda is the revival of   the chapter (which has malfunctioned) since 2002.  The Cainta Jaycee officers who will help nurse the chapter to life were there.  The second part is having partnership with the local public sector help promote business, art and tourism in Angono.

Yours truly delivered the closing remarks which was mainly about the Jaycee creed in everyday life.

The Jaycees does a great job of creating/molding future leaders through LIA-CIA program.

Creating your personal value system from Brian Tracy

From Blogger

From Brian Tracy

From the laws of universe, principle of cause and effect, for everything there is a reason.

Nothing happens by accident.  You hold everything in your hands.  You are responsible for the outcome of your life.  You may be born poor, but if you end up being poor, you alone are responsible - no one else.

You must create your own value system, based on your objectives, goal in life.
