What are investors looking for start ups?

Many things.  But they mostly concern  the founders/owners:

l.  Have devoted founders;

2.  Have the right team in place;

3.  The product has great potential; (did they do a great opportunity seeking/screening/research)

4 What significant progress has the team made on the product/marketing (ability to execute and act decisively)

5. Did they study the investors investing history?

6.  Is technology based.

7.  Meet current customer needs
