Training proteges can be daunting

Be better than before, than yesterday...

There are two proteges who have worked with me for the past two decades.  I have negotiated for them two major projects that amount to  10 numbers.  Probably  much much more than what I have worked for in the last 40 years.

However this post noticed certain weaknesses thast need correction:

     1  Need follow up;   need self direction and initiative

     2.  Always looking up to the mentor or me.   Be the authority or the mentor

     3   Entertaining self doubts or discouragement

     4.  Being fixated by small things /problems that drain their energy

     5.   Limited options and lack of creativity and innovation

     6.  Lack of clarity of lifes purpose

     7.  Need to be audacious and brave

I wonder how these can be developed.  otherwise they cant move forward.  They must develop these to move forward

It is about getting better...

Is the Philippines going to the path of socialist state.  There is no shortage of projects that aim to make people work less and be dependent on dole outs:    AKAP, AICS, 4ps, the seniors universal pension.  Less and less of initiative, industry and determination if being asked from citizens.  Thus we are danger of losing supporters of the nation due to decreasing number of taxypayers (remember the tax exemption of factory workers, low wage earner is P200,000.  So what do we resort to:

     1.  Increasing burden of taxpayers - they paying more

     2.  Borrowing

And for the latter we complain that our future generations are all ready drowning in debt even before they are born  We are, our government is asking for this situation    Wise fiscal management and governance have escaped the heads of our honorable statesman  

The govt is supposed to lead the country, provide stable policies, peace and order, but not a super ordinte ATM   Wherever they get the idea for the latter.

Business taxpayer bear the burden for development.    We need investments, factories, productive enteprises, not ayudas.   etc.

Let us bring this back

Leadership and being a self starter, less or 0 follow up

It is about getting better...

I am very senior now and my expectation in business is that I am done after long years of mentorship, with follow up and getting fired up and kicking ass.  This post expect the junior, now turning to seniors to exercise and practice leadership

I expect my subordinates to:

1.  Make recommendations for sound judgement and have weighed options all ready for decision;

2.   At their initiatives, fdollow up their timelines and contractors, without need for me to do the follow up

3.   Me not repeating many times procedures that need to be followed.

4.   Having the discipline for clarity and goals.

That is not happening yet.... Many lack determination and discipline
