Many college grads think that the college/university education has equipped them for their job. Maybe this is true for architecture, engineering: civil, mechanical, electrical, marine; vocational schools, accountancy, medicine, nursing. For others it is teaching people HOW to think or lighting a fire.
How to think, rather than memorizing should have been core activity even for technical job: problem solving even at most : difficult problem solving.
