What went wrong with Nokia? It leadership mindset

From techcrunch

Before cellphone was synonymous with Nokia or vice versa.  Now, the position is being held by Samsung.  Symbian used to be the dominant OS;  now its IOS and the dominant phones are the Android phones. It was the darling of cp industry since 1990. What went wrong.?

It is leadership that is to be blamed/accountable for this Its leadership failed to see what was happening to the marketplace (the trend towards smartphones. And its fat profits held it captive to the product that was being left behind.  Nokia was a phone first company and its weakness was its software.  Now, its destiny is being held by Microsoft who provided the software for its latest Windows phone.

Nokia is not as profitable as it used to be and no longer owns its HQ (its on sale with leaseback arrangement) and there is constant workforce reduction, and talks are ripe for takeover?
