An Idle Brain is the Devil's Playground
This title, from the timeless musical The Music Man, implied that if you didn't keep your mind busy with acceptable thoughts, it might lead to 'terrible vices', (like playing pool).
Regardless of your opinion about playing pool, research has shown that an idle mind is NOT good for aging.
We have some tips to pass on that can help exercise that unique brain of yours —beyond the 'givens' of regular physical exercise, eating right, taking vitamins and supplements (including Prevagen,) getting enough rest and frequent interaction with your fellow human beings. Here goes:
Stimulate your sensory side by breaking routine; shave or brush your teeth with your non-dominant hand, take a shower and/or get dressed with your eyes closed, and learn new skills.  This could include taking a course on a subject about which you know little, learning a new language or preparing a dish from unfamiliar recipes. The key is to choose something that really interests you.
In addition to brain exercises, here are some memory improvement ideas you might try on sometime: Pay attention. Focus on something for 8-10 seconds and process it in your memory. Apply your best learning style. Do you pick up on things best by reading, or by listening?  Go with your strength. Involve your senses. Relate things to color, texture, taste and smell if you can. Organize information. Write things down, take notes regarding complex material, then organize and study them. Interpret complex material. Focus on the basics rather than memorizing myriad details. Be able to explain it to someone else in your own words.
Finally, Be Motivated and Positive. Declare to yourself that you not only want to remember what you've learned, you're able to do both. It'll be like getting an 8-ball in the side pocket.

BENEFITS OF A BETTER BRAIN

One of the benefits of a better brain is thinking more quickly. It may seem insubstantial, but think of all you can do with quicker reaction times; play sports, have more engaging conversations, and make sure you got the correct change at the grocery store!
