It is about getting better...

We probably surprised the caretaker of the families 33 hectares estate:   there were being loaded probably 50 to 100 kaing of mangoes ripe for distribution, to be loaded in 3 jeepneys.   According to my companion, the caretaker has 7 tricycles and other assets.

Probably not being closely supervised.   Or simply we have plenty of people who are not Christians and who are not trustworthy.   Obviously not simply burying the treasures of the master.  But stealing and destroying them. 

While we try to take care of assets so that they will benefit the most.

Not everybody can be business leaders and entrepreneurs

It is about getting better...

As a senior, one of my missions is to mentor progenies and understudy to become successors.  But I forgot that leaders are products of being born, trained, or by serendepity.  And not everybody can be an entrepreneur, or a business leader.  Only a select true.

I found this out the hard way,  Despite yest and cordial meetings, the trainees when met by hard stuff, falter and crack up.   And end up worse than they were before.      So back to square one.  Start all over gain and or select a new crop

Effective communication - communication that really works

It is about getting better...

A son who just graduated from a prestigious grad school of business, was assigned by his father to lead and manage his construction company.    Months later the construction company was in shambles:    costs overrun, projects delayed.  The father investigated and found out that the cause was poor communications.  As a MBA grad and prestigious school grad, he practiced the civil and respectful communications.   However as I discovered early on  (we worked closely with contractors for road development and house counstruction) , communications with  construction workers is nearly just like a shouting match always.  A civil communication would not work. They would not listen   Communications with them has to be intense and forceful.

People skills, EI is important

It is about getting better...

Somebody is selling his/her book online regarding People Skills.   People with technical skills can not hope to improve climb up the organization unless their people skills improve.   Related to Michael  Gerber book on same topic.

Thus common examples:

     1.   You will have nice parking spot if you buy the parking attendant coffee;

     2.   The waiter in an event will give you best choices if you tip him/her generously up front (not after

            having a meal.

    3.    If you treat a food server badly, or say stewardess, she/he may spit on your drink or coffee

Success is people.  Deal with them well.  Thus "How to Win Frineds and Influence People"   is a good book
