What is as bad as drunken driving? Texting with hands or hands free!
From Atlantic Cities | Eric Jaffe
A new law was passed in California that allowed texting hands free receiving and sending by voice activation. Studies however suggests that driver's performance in driving slowed down considearably: with hands or hands free. This was according to the study of David Strayer of Univesity of Utah that using cp while driving is equivalent to have alcohol leve of .08, or equivalent to having a screwdriver (vodka with orange juice)

Slow down and respect others as new leadership guide in 2013
From Smartblog on Leadership | Mary Joy Asmus | January 16, 2013
(General Management and Inspiring others)
Slow down and respect others by doing so. As you exercise your leadership take note of the following guides:
l. Stop and relax for a few minutes to visualize how your day will flow; plan - what are urgent, important, what to delegate, what to do yourself
2. Think and pause before you react to the situation
3. Maybe you could just listen to somebody instead of just talking to them
4. Encourage dialog: what are we doing well, what must we do to encourage excellence, to foster tighter teamwork

The assertive entrepreneur - the one who can say NO, NYET, NADA!
From Small Business Succes Blog | Jean Rossome | January 14, 2013
This could be akin to book by Akio Morita The Japan that can Say No. This is part of assertive training and leadership. The leader manager must be able to put his/her put down on unwanted unwarranted budget/activities. He/he must have a positive and NEGATIVE LIST.
He/she must be able to say NO on a number of things:
l. Unpaid or shoddy work;
2. Rush work or quotes;
3. Rush deadlines
4. Doing things not on the plan

How savvy entrepreneurs evaluate opportunities?
From Forbes by Brent Beshore |January 15, 2013
One of the 3 masteries of Entrepreneur is mastery of the opportunity.
This post is similar to that of Dr. Morato who has simplified it into 3 Rs in his book, Trilogy of Entrepreneurship (I modified it into 3 K - Kaya ba (what it am good at?) Katugma ba (my passions/motivation) and Kikita ba (economic engine, risks/rewards. Dr. Morato listed 17 too.
What are some of the checklists of Ben?
1. What are my motives?
2. Disruption of my current responsibilities?
3. What is my problem?
4. What are the problems am I trying to solve?
5. What is the opportunity? (risks and rewards)
12 more things to check before starting a new business

Are Leaders Born or Made? There is a Leadership gene discovered!!
From Irish Times| January 15, 2013
There is a nagging question that does not seem to have an answer (as with entrepreneurs): are leaders, born, made or is situational?
A genotype known as rs 43950 was discovered by a group of scientists led by Dr. Jan -Emmanuelle de Neve from University College of London. The sample investigated were supervisory roles of some 4,000 individuals. The genotype were seen to be passed down to generation. The study will appear online at Leadership Quarterly
So what do we do about our leadership: can we develop this, or are we born with this?

Issue # 155 - January 15, 2013
Dear Jorge,After last Tuesday's newsletter about leverage, I had a lot of people send in a question similar to this one: Denise, you talked about how important it is for me to delegate to other people. But how do I find a good assistant for a price I can actually afford? The good news is that with today's global economy, nearly everyone can afford to hire an assistant. There is an abundance of talented people willing to work for you to help you grow your business. So for today's Main Essay, I'd like to share four secrets that you can use to hire an awesome virtual assistant for a very affordable rate, and the simple processes you can use to double your productivity in the process. In the Check It Out section, you will learn about the 3 fatal mistakes that can cause your business to fail faster than a controlled demolition. We hope you enjoy this issue of the Thriving Business Newsletter. Cheers, Denise Gosnell Publisher ThrivingBusiness.com Inc.
4 Secrets To Doubling Your Productivity With A Virtual Assistant
By Denise Gosnell Many small business owners try to do everything themselves, either because they can't afford to hire an assistant, or because they think that no one else can do the task as well. The problem with this approach is that you will be pulled in too many directions and will never be able to make significant progress in the areas that will truly grow your business. Luckily for you, there is a way you can get more productivity in the workplace and take some of the work off of your plate - hire a virtual assistant. A virtual assistant is someone who can assist you in your business operations remotely from a virtual office. They generally use their own computer and can do various types of computer and phone tasks that do not require their physical presence in your office. It may seem like a virtual assistant would be more distracted due to not being in the office, but you will be surprised to learn how much they can double your productivity and eliminate the constant multi-tasking you find yourself currently doing. In the rest of this article, I'll share 4 secrets on how you can hire a great virtual assistant for very affordable rates, and the simple processes you can use to double your productivity in the process. Secret #1 – Make A Commitment To Start Delegating Things Others Could Easily Do As a business owner, you should not be doing things that you can assign to others. Your time is too valuable to spend wasting it on easy tasks any intelligent person can do. Once you understand that, you can then commit to giving those easy tasks to somebody else. Here are a few examples of the types of tasks you should consider delegating (and that someone in a remote location could do for you):
Secret # 2 – Find An Awesome Virtual Assistant Without Spending A Fortune You don't have to spend a fortune to hire a virtual assistant. People from all over the world are willing to work for you from their homes. Here are some of the best places to find virtual assistants:
Then, for the top 2-3 candidates, give them each a small "test" task first (that you will pay them for) so you can see how they perform. You should give all 3 of them the same task, so you can compare how well each of them did. You can then hire the one that you like the best. Secret # 3 – Hire The Virtual Assistant As An Independent Contractor You will want to make sure and hire the virtual assistant as an independent contractor, assuming that they meet the criteria for being an independent contractor. The benefit to working with contractors is that they pay their own taxes to the government agencies. And you also do not have to give benefits to your contractors, such as health, medical, dental, vacation. Generally, if the virtual assistant uses their own equipment, sets their own work hours, and works independently from their own location, they can meet the criteria of being a contractor. That is far easier than bringing someone on as an official employee of your business. If you do end up hiring a virtual assistant as an independent contractor, make sure you have them sign a Professional Services Agreement that spells out the terms. One of the most important terms to have in such an agreement is a transfer of intellectual property, so you will obtain ownership of the work product that you hire them to create for you. We have a sample professional services agreement posted here on our web site. Secret # 4 – Start Delegating To Your New Assistant Using A Project Tracking System Once you have hired your new virtual assistant, make sure you use a consistent process and/or software system for delegating and tracking their progress on the tasks. For example, at Thriving Business we use a software program called Basecamp. It is easy to organize projects into Basecamp, and to track the complete history of the project. What I like best about Basecamp is that it allows you to reply to projects from email, but also captures the email reply into the proper project thread. So once the project has been created in Basecamp, you can view updates and give your feedback to the assistant through email without having to log in. When you combine hiring a virtual assistant with these secrets, you should have no problem doubling your productivity. If you don't believe me, give it a try, and see for yourself! If you don't take my advice about delegating, just be aware that you are making a critical mistake that will stall your growth and make your life much harder. Speaking of mistakes... Click here if you want to learn how to avoid the 3 fatal mistakes that can cause your business to crash faster than a controlled demolition.
Your Thriving Business Assignment
If you truly want to use your valuable time wisely and focus on the critical tasks that only you can do, make sure you fully leverage one or more virtual assistants. Here are some tips to get you started:
1. Commit to giving easy tasks anybody can do to a virtual assistant. 2. Find an inexpensive virtual assistant at websites such as eLance.com, Onlinejobs.ph, and Fiverr.com. 3. Hire them as an independent contractor in order to save you time and money. 4. Assign and manage the projects you give to them using a project tracking system.

Get organized this year starting NOW!
Early on, I used to get reasons from the resigning employees difficulty for time management. How could that be difficult?
I guess that is simply the question of the person wanting to get better and improve.
It is all about self improvement

Treasuries wipe out an entire year of yield ... in one week!
The culprit is inflation and blame it on too much money supply. Who increases the money supply?
And who prints the money? The Central Bank.
And who runs it?
(In the PHL the prescription by IMF was tight, very tight money supply and austerity. More taxes and less public spending.)
In Europe, it is tight money supply. That is why there are so many riots and protests. In the US, it more money - quantitative easing. Who is right?
