The article starts out with the difference between involvement and commitment of the hen (that just gives eggs) and pigs that has to die to give his ham in the egg and ham business.  Martina Navratilova, the former tennis star is said to say it.  And the difference between company with great leaders and those that do not have are those whose top management are committed to development of great leaders.

Some steps to take:

l.  Practice what you preach;

2. Think of the ways you became a leader:  the seminars, the readings, the bad bosses/experiences you had;

3.  Be the chief  talent broker (CTB)

4.  Make others accountable for developing leaderss;

5.  Assess talents -ask questions
